Product photography should show the package accurately enough for a buyer to understand its shape, finish and dispensing method. A strong hero image attracts attention; supporting views answer the practical questions that follow.
Show the full system
Include the bottle closed, the dispenser visible and the package beside its carton if there is one. For jars, show the cap removed where it helps explain the opening. Keep scale and proportions honest, especially when a thick wall makes the container look larger than its fill volume.
Control reflections
Clear glass, glossy plastic and metallic caps can reflect the studio and obscure details. Use soft, consistent lighting and check that decoration remains readable. A dramatic highlight can be useful, but it should not hide the shape of the closure or the actual bottle color.
Add useful detail views
Photograph the neck, pump, dropper or spray head close enough to show construction. A group image can demonstrate how sizes relate. Use an uncluttered background so buyers can compare colors and finishes across the range.
Keep claims out of the image
Do not add badges or performance statements unless they are supported for that exact product. Accurate captions and alt text help explain what is visible without promising unverified material or environmental properties.
One more check
Make the image set consistent across products. Similar crop, lighting and background help buyers compare shapes and finishes. Retouch dust and temporary marks, but preserve real component proportions and visible details.
Build a small image set for each package rather than relying on one retouched hero. Clear, honest views support better decisions.
